WRITE TO CONGRESS
SAMPLE LETTER TO MEMBER OF CONGRESS

As a constituent, I am writing to ask that you please make representations to the Lithuanian government urging authorities to repeal the 2015 Seimas Resolution 957 and to give the international Jewish community permission to restore the cemetery according to Jewish law.
Millions of US taxpayers dollars are given to Lithuanian individuals and organizations to support cultural aid and grants to promote human rights, yet the Lithuanian government will not allow the descendants of thousands of deceased buried in Vilnius to preserve, protect, and upkeep a 500-year old cemetery.
In violation of U.S. and international law, and in violation of an agreement with the United States, the Lithuanian government has green-lighted a conference center development atop the cemetery and refuses to repeal a Seimas resolution authorizing the project. It is imperative that the U.S. Congress correct this human rights violation. Members of Congress are being asked to sign a letter to the Lithuanian government urging the repeal, and I beseech you to do so.
